Default Kognition Design 9lb dry carbon hood (sneaak peak)

I am putting this in the FI section because this hood is designed for FI race/street cars to be functional at dispersing heat and are about half the weight if not less as other carbon fiber hoods, and a third the weight of a stock hood.

The vents are being designed as we apeak and will be ready for fitment in the next day or two, now that we know where the placement of them will be the most benificail for a TT car or most any other FI'ed 350Z.

This hood is made of High heat resin and is very strong.
I will post more pics later and the cooling benefits that I log in a little while after we get back from SEMA and the Time Attacks.
This is one of the same hoods we will be running on the Relentless Autosports Double Down Time Attack car. I will be bringing the Blue RA 350Z with this Kognition Designs hood with me for display at the SEMA show if you care to see it in person.

Here is a couple pictures for now and I will post more soon, things are still real hectic here from all the fires....

How can this have any cooling benifits over a stock hood if it doesnt have any vents ? And how can this be a F/I product ? Should be in the Body section .

Read the first post again. This is a sneak peak, the venting system goes in in the next couple days.

the hood definitely needs something to break the flatness of it. maybe add a 07 hump to it?

any pics of the hood pin install? Havent seen the aerocatch pins installed like that before.

so how much is the projected cost.........i know dry carbon isnt cheap.

OK...cool . Still isnt a F/I product . Some F/I guy may like to have it , but it still belongs in the body section.

Good eye. This is Cats old Z that I fixed and sold for her, it is now just kinda the RA test car. It was kept in the family. We will be a part of her new Z roadster build too, I am already planning it with her.

This hood is designed around a TT'ed car. It is not meant to be a cosmetic fixture or enhansment. It's sole purpose WILL be to vent out hot underhood gasses and help in cooling FI'ed cars and it is very lightweighr to offset some of the added seight of a FI kit.

The vents will help break up the look of the hood for sure. The hood pins are attached to a bracket that attaches to the mounting points of the stock hood latch. Or at least that was the plan when coming up with the design.

I think she got rear ended and it totalled the 335i, but she has a silver roadster now.

These pictures are the first time the hood has been on any car so it hasn't been tested on a car with a Stillen SC, but its doubtfull just based off of looks alone that it will clear.
