Canadian Z's have DRLs.

I would actually like to put them on my car, but I haven't done the research to see if it is just a relay difference, or something more major.

alter the wiring to go straight to the battery, toss in a relay to ACC power. done, not only do you have DRLs, but no more worrying about turning off your lights.

no clue what affect this would have on the car tho, that little buzzer might go off all the time or something.

Actually, not quite that easy. DRLs are high beams at 60% power, and only the headlights (no tails). Also, dash lights aren't effected.

I suspect it might not be that complicated, but I haven't gone through the wiring diagrams enough yet.

You can also get aftermarket kits, but I'd rather go the factory route.

As for wearing out bulbs, I doubt it is a big deal. My GTP is now over 5 years old, and I have yet to have a headlight fail (fog lights die constantly, though).

no, but GTPs dont have HID(maybe yours does, aftermarket?) but HID takes almost 100% of its damage from on and off.

As I said, the Z's DRLs use 60% of the high beams, which are regular bulbs.

yeah thats what made more sense, Id imagine most cars just use there regular lights tho right? when they arent HID I mean, does the GTP also do 60% of high beams? (or perhaps high beams and low beams are the same on the GTP)

*yeah this whole conversation is pointless.

I think the GTP uses lower wattage on the lows, but can't remember. I do know both high and low beams are the same bulb type, though.
