yeah, that would be really cool, but considering the soft top is already 500 lbs heavier than the coupe......the hard top is going to be a whole bunch more.

I agree that it's going to add a lot of unnecesary weight to an already chunky car

Unecessary...I think what we need is to be able get an optional hardtop for the Z. Where you can remove the soft-top assembly and install the hardtop as needed.

i think its what the Z needs... i hate the look of the soft top Z...btw who buys a roadster Z and is actually concerned about weight? if they were, they wouldnt have bought one to begin with. 2nd, if you wanna get down to it the Z just isnt fast enough until its FI anyway..3rd, i wouldnt feel as safe in a convertible car racing...even if its retractable hardtop...id still rather have a coupe...

I'd rather have a removeable hardtop. Yeah it's obnoxious and can't be hidden in the car, but I'm assuming the car wouldn't weigh anymore and you could get the best of both worlds?

Ehh that is just as ugly as the soft top really... It's too bad they cant engineer a light weight hard top convertible that keeps it looking close to the coupe. But the body design just wont allow that. Don't think it can really be done with a hatch design.

It's nice to dream but I don't think they'l be able to get something practical, good looking, and lightweight while keeping the Z coupe design.
