Can you imagine what kind of damage an a-hole would do to your quarter panel trying to get your $2 antenna off that you thread locked?

When you cut it, the middle part is white fiber wires, would this be a problem at a car wash? Or rain?

Nope...just sand it down a bit to get it smooth and color it black with whatever kind of permanent paint you have.

HAHA DID THE SAME AFTER MY S2K ANTENNA BROKE OFF IN THE CAR WASH BUT IT LOOKED CHEAP AND GHETTO SO I GOT AN AGENCY POWER ANTENNA LOOKS AWESOME AND GETS GREAT RECEPTION!!

Its a frickin antenna.....................go get some knives and play on the freeway, maybe you'll free up some good air that your all wasting...............

hateration aside, i bought a $13 ebay 4" antenna (seemed to be the longest of the generic shorty antennas) and it works/fits great. the 4 FM stations closest to me still sound perfect. 2 stations that are about 40mi away from me didn't sound great to begin with, and are a little bit more static-y, but i don't miss that extra 6" of obnoxiousness enough to care.

for reference, the 4" looks pretty much exactly the same length as the stock without the top section like in this post, so for those of you who don't want to cut it or spend twice as much on an s2k antenna... get one of those instead.
