+1 i kinda agree, both look good, but you lose the little details and accents on 06+ headlight when you black them out. goes well with the theme of the car though.

Yeah at first I was thinking that too but after a while I got really bored of the way it looked. I think my photography skills definitely doesn't showcase the quality of the work but I will have a full out photoshoot with a professional photographer this weekend. I figured if I decided that I don't like it I'm sure someone would trade me their non-modified 06 headlights in a jiffy

I was thinking about doing the same thing but in red to match my car but I'm too chicken sheet to tear it all apart.

Looks great. Would probably look even better with the silver ring color-matched

How much of a pain in the *** was it to seperate the lens from the housing? Did you have to heat it in a oven or use a heat gun?

I couldn't agree more, but the nice thing about you and Motormouth is that I know you guys aren't afraid to tell people if something is shitty, and I want those honest opinions and nothing else.

As for the painting, the project's housing is plastic and you can paint that too but I left it because I like the way it looks unpainted.

The baking is actually the easy part - 325 degrees for 10 minutes and you're good to go, the painting and texturing was hard and Hai was able to get it right so mad props to him

har I am always around to add some non nut hugging honesty to the mix

but man, as I said in the other thread, you have one of the most tasteful cars on this board. I had an idea and tell me if it's possible.

I have the V2/jdm kit as well, and I always planned on doing the two tone balck lower lip look but you are making me rethink it.

do you think I could paint just the center of the bumper inlet black and leave the two seperated sides body colored (the brake duct section) or would that not work because of the shape or something?

Thanks bro, I think if I was given the chance I would definitely do the two tone. It's a clean look and I kinda of wish I had done it, but I got my sides/rear/v1 bumper done together and got the v2 bumper at a different time so I couldn't get the two tone done. As for the v2 front bumper I would definitely just get the whole center + the lip painted black too like this one below. It looks beyond siiick I would definitely do this given the chance to redo the paint work on my kit.

Also, if you want to do the grill paint scheme I would suggest do the middle bar like I did, I photoshopped a version with only the two sides painted and it made the car looks "chubby" whereas the horizontal piece painted made the front bumper looks "wide"

love that pic...

but I meant painting the entire inlet peice, and leaving the outline and 'bars' black... maybe not, cause the bar is not flush with the outer lip, so it will look dumb.

two tone it is! the whole idea was to have the black lower tie into my black rims (TEs) and CF accents... stick to the plan then.

Can you post a latest pic of your car so I can see? I think two tone is the best way, it'll look amazing. I'm planning on the Nismo exhaust next and then the V2 wing After that I'm moving onto interior.
