I got all the help from Redlude97 and learned it from him. I actually ended up trading them with an untouched set of 06 Bixenons from my friend just last night and swapped it out. He was going to do it on his and I wasn't too sure if I liked the way it looked on my car.

It looks siiiick at night but during the daytime the lack of contrast wasn't pleasing to me. I'm planning on taking the new ones apart when I find some JDM STI lenses to get a sick cutoff line from the bixenons but for now it's back to stock chrome which stands out nicely from daytona blue night and day Only took like 45 minutes to install the new set - man I got this down took apart the bumper of several Zs probly 7-8 times now

Yeah, the black housings are super siccck on lighter colors and also black (like NitrousZ) but I have since found out that Daytona blue is the most pain in the *** color to maintain and match with anything lol. Certain parts gotta be stock to keep the brighter colors and create contrasts (emblems, headlights, taillights) and certain parts gotta be darker to look sleek and stylish (wheels, touches of CF) Oh well, I still love this color even though it's a PITA to work with

I think i like the old look of the car too. The old housings go well with the larger lip on your works. Maybe if you did have the lip painted black it would tie it in like this.

I thought it would look similar to my car, but i guess the little details go along way.

I love your two-tone paint job but I still think the black housing doesn't look as good as the oem ones. I had high hopes but it just didn't quite give me the oooh effect in the light. At night under garage and street lights it looks amazing but during the day time it doesn't do much for me...I dunno, it's all good, project was fun and it helped my friend with an SS since it'll look sick on his car

haha yeah I was going to help him paint his 06 headlights anyway, figure this way I get the look that I want back and I won't have to go paint another set. If he didn't want to trade I would have try to trade locally or on this forum I'm sure many people would love to just trade straight across like that.

I'm out 5 hours and $30 (for primer, paint, and clear) but it's cool because I get to learn a lot from Hai as to how it's done and everything so it's not a waste of time or money at all. I do fele bad for asking Hai to help me then trading it away though but I'll take him to lunch or something

Well if you're all about learning new things, practice makes perfect. I'll send you my headlights and paypal you 50 dollars for your generous service. Deal? :]

good choice on going back to the stock look. I like the detail that stock lighting gives our cars. the orange strip ties in with the brembos, chrome housing with your lips, etc, etc.
