I had mine mounted there for about 6 months, from what I was told that is not a good idea at all. But I brought a harness bar so I will be mounting them to that. Also most will probably tell you that harnesses on a street car are not a good idea all together so its your safety do as you want
But I mounted mine with eye bolts to the rear strut brace.

At a bare minimum get a harness bar and mount them from there.

harness bar wouldn't do since i have a 6pt cusco roll cage...the harness bar would be in the way

Theres no cross brace on the cusco cage to mount harnesses to?
I'm sure you could have one custom added if not.
I take it this setup is just for looks, since you're using a cusco cage anyway? If so, then I guess there isn't any reason you couldn't use the rear strut brace as a mounting point. Just dont fool yourself into thinking its a proper setup for racing.

you can mount it to the strut brace, but it would have to be done via welded/bolted hooks and then the plastic trimmed to accept the hooks - you can't just wrap it around the brace
I will be doing this on my car in the coming weeks, just have to take some measurements as to where it would net me the proper angle. I'm only using a sportsman type harness on my car from this point forward (the NISMO/Willans ones), and they will be looks only (only will be in the car for shows, etc), as I don't plan on any more track time with my car in the future. But never-the-less, I want the install to be done correctly, though I don't want a cage or harness bar
I'll post up with pics/details when its done - actually a couple of us locally will be doing it, but its at least a month away at the earliest
