Default Coolest Center iPod Duck

Hello everyone!

I ran into this custom made center console and I have been looking for something like this for ages. Does anybody know if this is available off the shelf so I can just buy it and install it? or anything similar to this. I just want my ipod to be a part of the center console and dont want to use those ugly phone/ipod holders anywhere in the car.

Thanks much!

Haven't seen that... have u considered it just sticking in the navi spot if its not occupied? That looks to be where it would go on that custom one... plus it doesn't look too stable imo.

I saw one similar in a car at the Z-Convention car show this year. It was definitely a custom job.

Custom Stereo shop can do it for you. I had mine added to the center console instead of the cup holders. Fiberglass....

All good but I dont know how to work with fiberglass. So, no-one knows if there is something out there that I can buy already.

Exactly. I personally wouldn't get this myself but this one does seem kind of convenient.

That is sexy and precisely what I've been wanting to do, I was gonna side mount it, but I wanted to relocate my hazard button and what not, and mounting it straight down the center console is so much better.

I can assure you not even Alberto monkey-shifting will make it fall out.....

Seriously though......it's rock solid.

Here's the thread.....you can see some pics as the progression happens.....I'm pretty sure all the pics are still in the thread:

Like Tony said, with fiberglass and bondo, you can put just about anything anywhere.

The interface cable will be holding the ipod, plus it is on a 45 degree angle, if you put a littbe bit of rubber meterial around the hole, there is no way that is falling out.

The other option (behind the shifter) looks super cool but I tend to play with my ipod quite often. Having it there to navigate and driving at the same time will increase the chance of crash. I want to be able to look back at the road just by moving my eyes rather than turning my entire head/neck.

What I gather from this thread is that there is nothing I can buy right now. I will look into making a custom one like the gentlemen who did that. Thnx everybody!

Exactly....nothing you can buy of the shelf. Either yourself or have an audio guy/installer fab you something up. I told my guy that he should make some of these up to sell....and he just said he'd rather mine just be unique until someone duplicates the look.....

It's gonna change over the next couple of months.
