Default Grilles = Terrible Idea?

I've been thinking about getting a grille insert for my basically stock 07 (magnetic black).

It comes in silver or black... hadn't decided which one. I put a silver one on my mom's S2K and I think it looks pretty sweet on that car (not rice).

But I've been reading some real flamage about grille inserts on this board. Is the general concensus that they're a foolish choice?

Are there any inserts for the stock grille opening that anyone likes?

Lightbulb I disagree...

some work. I find it can really be impacted by car colour and overall set up.

I think they look a lot better than the stock opening. I had several people compliment that aspect of my car after I had one put on. HAve a different bumper now, but the stocker still has the chrome grill in it.

Hey robby, any pics of the old setup?

And oddjobbb, I don't know if I really think that those inserts look better than the stock grille... hence the post. I've only ever seen the billet grilles in person. I like the stock look, I've just been considering an insert as an inexpensive addition.

It definitely looks better than the gaping hole that was the front end of my mom's S2K.

Default Do what suites your taste.

Do you what you think looks good. That's why we are all out here asking questions, reading and searching for things to add to our Z. It's so they can become an extension of our personality. If we all conform to public opinion than we all end up with the same Z. It doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks looks good on your ride it's what you think looks good. I personally don't think they look bad and if it was me I would probably go with silver.

Yes ... as long as you color match, it looks pretty good. Although I've only seen it done on a Lemans Sunset.

For what its worth, I threw on a Street Scenes grill. It snaps onto existing grill, and looks aight. I have gotten a bit tired of it, as its been on there for a couple of years, but it does set the car apart from the sea of Chrome Silver Z's on the road.

I don't really like it but if it makes you happy...
