One question, is it the same as the keyfobs on the new altimas?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-O...spagenameZWDVW

I just dont want to have an infiniti emblem since...i dont drive an infiniti.

Yep they are the same except for the emblem. The problem with the one shown in that eBay sale, is that it doesn't include the key. You wont need the key for starting the car, but you will need to use the head (the part with the hole) to attach it to your keychain, key ring, or key holder.

OK well i have my i-Key fob for my 06 versa and access to a consult. I am going to see if i can simply add the remote to the Z. I thought about doing this before, but i doubted that it would work. Since one guy on here claims his Z works with the new remote, i am gonna go ahead and try. I will report back by Friday. Both my remotes for the Z are worn out, and one is broke. Would love to have this work then i would not need to carry mutlple fobs. The Z and Versa are never together and i never use the fob to lock or unlock the versa.

FYI my Intelligent key has the following info under the removable key

FCCID: CWTWBU729
IC NO. 17880-FWB1U729
MODEL NAME: TWB1U729

Hey Adam

Long Time, no hear. How's it going? Tell Doug I said hello Thanks for trying out the fob on the consult. That's what I've been waiting for. Let us know. And, it if works, the process to kick it into action.

BTW, it appears that the Versa Key Fob is the 3 button variety, not the 4 button found on the "Z" and "G". It lacks the Trunk or Hatch button. Let's hope the functions and frequency are the same.

I only have 3 buttons on my key fob. The dealership screwed me, I have lock, unlock, and panic. Was really wondering why there was no rear hatch button, and now I know, lousy dealership.

Would it be possible for the immobilizer chip to work with the Z's as well? Or just the keyfob functionality?

also, does Nissan sell the spare key inserts as pictured above seperately? (edit, nvm. You can get the key insert as a blank)
I want this where do i get it and does the key come out of it?

hey everyone,

new to the forums, trying to get into an 07+ Z during the summer sometime...

i was just wondering if you installed an aftermarket alarm system with an immobilizer bypass module, could you then use one of those really sexy nismo design keys on ebay? im not really sure what the immobilizer bypass module actually does but from the name, it seems like it well... bypasses the immobilizer for you!

any thoughts?

-jason.

Well, this was posted on 4/01/08. I've sent Adam a couple of eMails with no response. He's still on the forums posting to other threads, but nothing here. My guess he had no luck, or had no time. Another wet dream. Oh well

Any updates on this? I'm interested in getting the Altima Key Fob but don't know how to program it or see if it works.

Plus they have a "LOT of Nissan Key Fobs" (10 Key Fobs) on ebay for $129. Anyone willing to split charges with me PM me.

I forgot the thread it was posted in, but I remember you (or someone else) had a guide to what keyfob they used and how they programmed it, etc.
