The wiring is easy. The bulbs just plug up to the factory HID unit and for the hi beam solenoid, I crimped on two male connectors and plugged them up to the H7 hi beam connector.
If you do purchase non-HID headlights and do the retro-fit, post some pictures please.

A few people in this forum say that these projectors are not so good, but to me they are so much brighter and better than the factory ones. If I had to really say how much brighter, I would say at least 3 times brighter if not 4 times brighter. I would love to have them even brighter with these other and better Bi-xenon projectors, but how much brighter will they be?
Before, when I go down a dark road, my lights were just okay (about the brightness of regular halogens). Not sure if there were anything wrong with my headlights, but I hated them. I am not over exaggerating when I say that these are like a totally big difference. Now when I go down the same dark road, my retro-fit HID lights up three lanes and I can see everything.
It's like getting Lasik for your eyes.

People buy PVC piping at ACE or LOWES to do the home make shroud. I didnt want to go that path so I didnt look into that. I bought a set of E46 bixenon shroud to cover the TSX projectors.
But let me find some example for you:
This guy posted this on my regular website:
"Walmart cat bowl, bought 4 of them and I cut the bezels out of 2 of them.
They are stainless steel, I polished the bezels and brushed the shrouds.
BTW they cost 0.97 cents each."
The other guy do the flanges, etc..I searched for the last 10 mins for you but it didnt come up as I wanted. And Im getting tired so, lol. But they are examples for home made shrouds for you. If you would like to know more or to search more, read up HIDplanet.com to find out! Good luck with your project!
Oh, just for the record, your retrofitted would be a lot better than the stock d2r HID. I said I prefer the stock one not because its better. Its because I got tired of doing all of that retrofitting...

Hey,
just figured I'd pass this along. If you guys are looking to do a retrofit and you want quality, check these guys out:

They do awesome work. Their HID kits are quality and at good price too. They can do all kinds of stuff with the Z housing and even install 'angel' eyes if you want that. I am curious how that would look on the Z.
