Default 350z Ugliest key housing ever

Love my kuro 350z and modding it is coming up nicely, there is only one draw back, the flippin key housing is fugly as hell

Not sure if the plastic cover is the same in the US as in the UK and I know its only a key, but when you modding up your car and it lookes like an expensive motor, and then pull out the keys, its a big let down IMO. I went back to some girls house and when I chucked my keys on the side she saw the huge nissan plastic key and asked if i had a micra ( similar to your Versa)

I know probably stupid and lame, but anyone tried changing the housing to make it look better from fugly, perhaps carbon fibre housing or leather

I saw this a thought gorgeous but know it cant house the immobiliser or open lock buttons

No, in the US I think we all get key fobs. see: http://www.mynismo.com/images_products/S_3777.jpg

How do you open the hatch with that key?

the NISMO key pictured will not work as it has no immobilizer provision (I've got that key for my Datsun )

Ugh, that ugly!

It's a shame Nissan didn't give us a cooler key like the last gen Z.

Just opened my spare key to have a look at the internals, going to talk to a mate to see what he can do with it, hopefully reshape it so that it can be like the 300z style key with two buttons one either side in a carbon fibre housing. Ill get pics as soon as its done

I'm working on this exact thing. There are threads here and on Driver that show how to retrofit the Z fob into Mazda/VW/Audi fobs. I bought one on Ebay for 20 bucks, a little difficult wiring and I should be pimpin. Just a fun little project.
