Default Seat Warmers. Do they all not work so great?

I searched through the forum but couldn't find anything on this so send me a link if I missed it.

Anyway my girlfriend has a Super Beetle with seat warmers and when those suckers are on high your **** is on fire. After a few minutes you have to turn them to low.

But you can leave my seats on high all you want and hardly notice them.

Do they just suck or is there something wrong with mine?

Hmm, Has it gotten worse or always sucked? I remember a guy brining his roadster into a dealership and them discovering that there was plastic wrap on under the leather.

Just used mine, and they get pretty hot. Check your heater element, if you have a 2003/04 they probably need to be replaced.

the heated leather seats arent comfortable imo. Thye make your butt hot and that doesnt feel good. Maybe if it heated the backs too then it would be better.

Try this. The switches have two positions, forward is high, backward is low (I think). I've noticed on the forward position that the seats act like thermostats in that they heat up then shut off when they become hot and them come back when they're cooler again (which I like). Conversely, when the switch is on the back position, the heat stays on constantly and my back and buttocks get red hot.

If I have this wrong, pay no attention and move along.

The heated seats are designed to cycle. Make sure that the ambient temp in the car is cool enough or they will not work.

Seat warmers in the Z BLOW!
I went from my 3 stage Bimmer seats though. I am not impressed with these at all.
I shoulda got a base model. All the crap I got upgraded in the Touring package is lackluster IMO

Mine work well enough to keep my bum warm. They're not supposed to cook your rear, that's why they're called "seat" warmers. Not butt warmers.

On the higher of the 2 settings, Z's seat warmers actually work too well. It is much too warm for me, even when weather is <30 degrees outside the car. I usually turn mine on until the car warms up from the heater and then turn them off; wife does keep hers turned on high the whole time though!
