Default Painting And Mounting my Spoiler, Nismo V1

So i bought a USDM Nismo Spoiler from a local dealer, This Spoiler had already been used before so they gave me a good price...

I stoped by local AutoZone to see what Paint they carried and Duplicolor has a wide range in Paints, I chose the Nissan Red (Aztec Red) for the Base, Flat Black for the small section on the base, and a Universal Metallic Black for the top of the spoiler, This Combination is very cool, one that i'v never seen before, and went to town on my project...

I started by sanding down the Spoiler with 800 Grit paper and used some water to help, (Wet Sand)

Took 4-5 coats of paint to achive a nice smooth finish on the base, i applied thin coats so that the paint did not run or crinkle..

Then applied almost 6-7 coats just to get a Flat Black this paint was alot thiner than the Red...

Sprayed the top with 1 can of the Universal Metallic Black, witch looks awsome, and about 2 cans of Duplicolor clear...

In between coats i waited for the paint to completly dry, Red15-20 mins, Flat Black 15-20, Metallic Black 15-20 mins and Duplicolor Cear 30 mins each coat...

On the bottom of the spoiler i applied 3m Tape all the way around the edge...(dont want water runing in there..)

After my paint was done and dried, I Used Miguiers NTX Wax to give it a good deep shine, (wow)

Using the template that came with the Spoiler i followed the Guides that were printed on itself...

From the under side of the hatch thers this wieght thats not clear to me why its there, im sure some one will know... (well get rid of that, after i removed my winshield wiper and the wieght the hatch was alot lighter)

I puched and drilled my holes, then placed the spoiler in its position...

I am Happy with the way It came out, Took me a whole 3-4 days, but I now know the diffrence between USDM and JDM, JDM has longer spoiler tips than USDM....I want the JDM!

Well its pretty Damn close...lol... i compared the two, Aztec red was a lil brighter but barley noticable...you'd have to really examine it...
