Default Rattle Under Passenger Seat. Moving seat Forward Stops the Rattle

I have been reading and reading **** loads of information regarding rattles in the Z. At first I thought this rattle was coming from under the Passenger dash. Went under there saw nothing. I then realized that the slight rattle I have goes away when moving my seat (Passenger) all the way forward the rattle goes away, while driving I move the seat back and the rattle comes back.

Any clues what the heck is going on here?

These forums are still for 350Z rite? I see more responses to people love life then to actual 350Z related issues.

Have you attempted to look for yourself?

Try moving the air bag wire clips around under the seat. You'll know what i'm talking about if you take a look at it. That is if you have air bags. Also if you have motorized seats, there are a bunch of plastic clips and wires that can cause rattles.

I guess I should clarify but yes I searched. I saw all the clips. I'll try and zip tie them but it sounds more like a metal rattle. I have both airbags and motorized seats

Is the back of the seat rubbing against the rear "wall"? Not sure what the sound you're experiencing is, but I know if my seats are all the way back and rest against the plastic behind them, there is a squeaking sound.

I'd take the seat out of the car to get a good look at what's goin on underneath. While it's out, take a spin around the block to make sure the moise is gone without the seat. Just make sure the car is off before disconnecting the seat wires.

Checked out all the wiring, that all seems fine and would have a different rattling sound. This sounds more like a metal on metal rattle kind of what people described from the dash. I'm getting it from under the seat. Going to take it out, and see if it still does it. I do notice that it only happens when my RPMS Jump.

Just curious if you've had a chance to take the seat out to see if it solved the problem. I've got a very annoying metal-on-metal buzz in my 06 roadster that sounds identical to the problem you're having.

It's a coin stuck in the seat track. Your Z is totaled.

Ive got the same sound as well. Only happens sometimes. Its got to do with the seat belt, good luck and let me know how you fix it.

Looks like I'll just remove the seat belt, then. "Passenger, you're on your own! Good luck!"

Seriously, though - thanks for the pointer. I'll investigate.

I have a weird sound coming from somewhere around the passenger side. I thought it may have been the seat belt but it sounds like its almost inside the door. Is there anything in the door that could have gotten loose and rattling?

Yeah it sounds like its coming from the passenger door or under the seat. Cant really put my finger on it. Just fixed my mirror rattle. Trying to attack this one this weekend.

I know this thread is a little old, I have the same problem in an 08. Sounds like a metal on metal rattle at 60 mph and above. Just curious if anyone found something.
