Default Impossible to find 03/04 Black 350 w/o a million rock chips?

Hello all,

Right now im looking into buying into your worlds, and trying to find a black 350z. Unfortunatly, my financial position only allows me to buy a 03-04. After looking at a couple black ones, i couldnt help but notice ALL of the front bumpers just seems completely chipped up/bug stained and all that. Is this something THAT common? I have yet to see a black 350z thats a couple years old with the front original paint still in new-ish condition.

Is the paint on the silver ones usually like this too?

Also another question, ive noticed on the inside the easily-worn black plastic paint around the shifter and radio panel usually has some chips and such of its own. Is there any fix for this? Is there any interior paint that you guys use, as that seems to be a common problem as well...

Thank you all for your help.

-D

Unless the original owner added a clear bra to the front end you're going to find that the paint job on the 350Z, hum....SUCKS!! I had a 2004 BLK and my front end looked like a 16 year old teenager with back acne. Serious I don't know why NISSAN uses such low end paint. Especially on such a low riding car. Figure the silver won't show as badly as Black.

well, its been at least 5 years, though. It bounds to be that way unless you find an owner who drives his/her car once or twice a week or so...Or if you find some one who cares about their cars too much, but those people tend to keep the cars, though.

in any case, good luck to you, sir!

just repaint the front bumper. it's only 600 bucks .

btw, if you are picky with body damage, black is the wrong color to go with. Get silver or white.

Also for the people who got their bumpers repainted, make sure you go with a quality brand of paint and clear. Cheap stuff will be worse than oem. I have 0 rock chips on my bumper and it's been over a year already.

my 05 has 3 easy to see rock chips and some really hard stains. Even if you found one without rock chips, you will get them while you are driving it. I live in boynton, driving on 95 every single day, i will see little pebbles being kicked up by cars infront of me. Unless you never drive that thing, living where you live, its guaranteed chips will be the outcome.

yeah..nissan paint has been the worse out of all my previous cars. I had mine repainted for $300 last year and this paintjob is far superior to oem but i still have a few chips but not as frequent as before but i drive highway most of the time so lots of debri from trucks and stuff so it's inevitable but yeah..if i bought a black car i would get a bra since it doesn't look out of place cause it's the same color.

Welcome. The more miles the more chips. A new 350Z will have none. Problem solved.

My '97 Nissan PU I bought new. It's got 130,000 miles on it and there are only 2 or 3 chips on the hood (front edge) and those were only caused by rocks that were big enough to actually ding the metal.

My 07 only has 7,000 miles on it from 6 months of driving and the front bumper is chipped to hell... My 04 tsx has less damage than this... oh well at least it'll give me an excuse to get a aftermarket bumper in a year .

My car didn't have hardly any rock chips. As in, I couldn't find any.
