Question Suede Visors..I know it is possible..Local shop says No..Help?

Recently I inquired about finishing my headliner and visors in black suede to the local upholstery shop here in Lexington, KY. They said they can cover the headliner fine, but they said it is NOT possible to cover the visors because the original material is "heat-sealed" and it will not work. I am highly confused about how they cannot cover the visors. I have seen it done on numerous Z's. Does anyone know how this can be accomplished?
