Thumbs down I'm FED UP with Veilside !!!

I ordered a ver 1 front lip spoiler. I received it cracked. They sent another. I had it painted by NISSAN and installed. First road trip it shifts and cracks. I was under the impression that this was a direct bolt on and 3m taping was not needed. IT IS. You have to tape the top part under the grille down or the torque at high speed shifts position. Adding insult to injury, I also sustain about 1,000 chips in the crappy paint job from NISSAN.

I loved the way this looked but I can't stand the B.S.

They are for sale and listed in the private classifieds if interested.

The following pics show the original position and the shifted position with the resultant crack.

notice all the paint chips after 1,000 miles. (that's equivalent to 1 chip per mile)

I dont think its Veilside. It's probably the poor paint that was applied on the kit.

It is FRP. Nissan said that it was painted and clear coated. Look at the front of the car around the lip, not one chip. I drove through northern AZ so there were some gravel areas but it was all freeway driving. I just think it's unacceptable. Nissan blew it on the paint but it's the Veilside lip that slid out of place and cracked. It bolts on with 4 bolts under the front end so you can't really screw up the install. There were no instructions included so I didn't think it was necessary to 3M tape the overlapping part under the grille.

sad to hear about this..

Although VS didn't supply any 3M tape for that lip, I took the lip off myself when I got home from Australia VS distributer and applied the 3M double side sticker at the grill area just to secure that... because I could notice it moved a bit when I got back from the shop... also the installation might be the problem.... since this lip is fitted on REALLY REALLY tigh... you will not believe on tigh it is unless you fit it on yourself! So it *might* be nissan screw up the kit while they were trying to fit it on, but who knows... well... although my lip is a CF lip instead of the FRP, I still think they might be quite the same...

all the best to your future lip!

cheers,

richie

Default I totally understand...

Me... total package of Veilside Version 3. Imagine that! Fornt bumper? I craked 3 times now($5-$700 repair and paint each time). I put fiber glass reforcement patch 3 times, but still crakes... paint chip? "every time." It's fiber glass... nothing you could do, but there is the way you could get away with the paint chip! there is a product just introduced market which makes instant silicon layer. That layer gets hard and protects front bumper. After you have done driving, you could peel off without harming paint of the car.

hmm.. are you sure its the lip that is causing the chip? i dont think so.. you need to tell the painters to add a flex agent into the bumper due to the fact that when you're driving, its sustaining alot of different vibrational forces on it... i highly doubt if it was properly painted and cured, then it shouldnt be that bad unless you went offroad a bit.. or was driving on bad roads...

Hi Micky,

Any idea if there is a website with info on the silicon product you mentioned. It will really be helpful.

Thanks

Default Here is good & bad news!

1st: Paint chips around "Front Bumper"

I mentioned early ago about instant silicon layer. You just spray on front bumper. Within 5 - 8 min later, silicon dry up and makes another layer for your front bumper. After you done driving around you could peel off without any harms on paint. Here is bad news. I'm still waitning for that product. I have been waiting almost 2 weeks now. The company does not have web site yet(the company is located in Utah) Spray bottle is imported from another country. Oh! price of this bottle? Not cheap. it's $50... I will call tomorrow and find out when. Sorry about it guys ^^. I have been so busy...

2nd: Crakes on front bumper or front lip.

Any of you plan to get after market bumper, watch out this crakes. My friend who has Nismo front bumper has crack just like me on the pictutes(both side). Fiber glass reinforcement patch will not keep away from happening. no joke. right? I'm trying to find out what really causing it. It will take some times.

Mean time My friend and I will call veilside Japan, and Nismo Japan try get some answer or soultion with this problem. I bet their answer will be very short, like "If you installed properly, you would not face same problems." B.S!!!

Thank you guys and have a great day.

Default Me!

4 different auto shops... Still same. it's sad story. isn't it?

It's not because of gap between headlight and bumper is too tight which causes crack because nismo front bumper does has little gap and still cracks.
