Default DNX7100 - Wiring/Install

I've pretty much set on the DNX7100 as my head unit. I'll be keeping the rest of my sound system stock (for now). It will be installed in a custom fiberglass center console. Is it a relatively simple matter of switching the DNX7100 and the stock HU, electrical-wise?

Thank you

I'm sure there are already many posts on this - so you might find more detail with a search. But, yes, piece of cake. Just get the wiring harness and plastic surround, solder the connections from the harness to the 7100, plug in and go. Probably took 2 hours for the complete install including soldering the wires and reinstallation.

That being said, the stock (non-bose) sound system isn't all that great as you already know. But it has gotten me by while I'm waiting for kick panels and speakers to arrive.

I love the 7100 - great little unit!

Yes it's pretty simple. I received the standard "Nissan" harness/adapter which joined with the harness from the unit plugged right up and worked perfectly the first time. Get a Metra dash kit, looks and fits great. Mine came with some other brand and it looked like crap so I swapped it for the Metra.
