I own a 03 Z and I was wondering if I can put 06 LED taillight without any modifications. I thought that oem 06 tail lights are plug and play. But one of my friend told me that I have to modify the harness ..??? ..is that true?? I searched 06 taillight but couldn't get any thread that discussed this...if there is a write up available , feel free to post it's link ....THank you!

 

I'm not sure about the red US spec lights, I've got the clear Jspec lights in my '05. I had to Dremel off some tabs to make them fit. It looks like they reversed the harnesses from left to right for some odd reason. Again, this may not be true for the red US lights.

 

I have an 04 with 06 led tails (NOT JSPECS). The installation is plug and play, however only one of the harnesses are used for each light as opposed to the two currently being used. Simply tape off the other unused harness with electrical tape to keep out any moisture and you're done. The installation only takes about 10 minutes tops.

It took less than 20 min to install both taillights. Perfect Fit!!! and umm yeah, harness works fine too.. (only use 1 harness instead of two, that's it) ..some pix

Hello, i also have a question regarding the taillights. I just bought some LED lights for my 03 Z. And the harness does not fit to the car. I dont understand taping off the unused harness. I just dont get it... thanks

ok first of all, did you buy the domestic or jdm led taillights? I am hoping they are not from EBAY because someone here had a lotta trouble with ebay non OEM crappy one... it took me 18 minutes FLAT to install driver and passenger side tailights... your 03 taillight uses TWO harness where the new 06+ LED lights uses 1... that's it... plug and play less than 20 mins install...

BTW, they are absolutely worth the money if you want to enhance the exterior

I bought 06's off a member on this forum and the harnesses are reversed like you guys have described the JDM tails... Did I get ripped off? Are they Ebay reps or something? ..confused

 

Got a quick add on question rather than make a new topic..how much do the 06 tails cost from a dealer? I have an 03..gunna upgrade to the 06's and tint them a bit. Thanks

I believe they are $380 ... atleast that's what my body shop told me ... I'd pm Justin "Justin@WestCovinaNissan " or "ZCARBANDIT"(Scott Evans Nissan) to get a quote on how much they go for shipped .... I think I actually saw a kit on ebay for less than $200 but don't know if it's ended now or not ... Good luck

 

possibly>?? but they are all red and according to him they were from the dealership.. Weird but I don't really care b.c. I shaved down the harness and the lights work; plus the guy I bought them from got banned, not sure why.
