Default So i need opinions...C/F headliner

Well i got my new seats, wheel and harness bar (thnx to Intense Motorsports...they seriously are the best shop I have ever ordered from) and am thinking of redoing my suede center console by having the OEM piece wrapped in CF. So the guy mentioned why not do a CF headliner. I am kinda thinking it is tacky but so is the tan liner on a car with a black interior. Before i waste more $ has anyone seen one or have an honest opinion regarding this matter?

If it was a matte or a dry carbon it would look good. The shiney would look tacky.

The problem I see with the headliner (we looked into something similar with Toby's car) is it will most likely have to be done in place. I think it'd be sweet but it needs to flex some to get it in and out of the vehicle without damaging it. Its fine (but tight) until you try to squezze the front out where it meets the a pillars

I covered my H/L in black carbon fiber vinyl along w/armrests,etc. it looks so much better than the why did they make this gray/beige headliner. I say go for it but agree on the dry ro flat finish.

ive always wanted to do this but I would do it in the dry or matte look. I think if it was shiny it would be very distracting

in the event of a rollover accident, a CF headliner would probably pop straight off, since its being held in with simple clips and is not flexible like the OEM.. if the hit was hard enough, it would probably splinter and you'd have shards of CF everywhere.

When CF is heated, say you leave your car in a sun, you will always smell it's resin. i for one, having been around it, hate that smell, and i do smell it even with my hood and hatch, i would hate it having above my head all the time.

also since its going to be one large piece, i'll going to go out on the limb and say it'll probably buzz or rattle at some point depending on the clip in points, unless yo're going to glue it to the metal roof underneath.

i say, keep the CF on the outside, or in small portions interiorly..

I'm pretty sure I'm high right now from resin fumes from doing some composites work...resin is the worst smell ever to get off.

I say skip the CF and go for a nice pink fur.

+1 on the pink fur!

I'd personally either get the headliner professionally dyed black or get a suede. I wouldn't want to spend the time/money/labor dealing with a cf headliner.

couldnt of said it better myself....it would probly make alot of noise and also when wrapping the piece outside of the car it would more than likely loose its shape and harden so it would not be a perfect fit when it goes back in...oh and it does need to flex to go in and out...im sure the cf would give a very very little but probably not enough to get it back in...thats y i would be against doing it...not worth the time or the money.
