Sidemarker Install in 20 Mintues (How To)
I read all the threads on here about how to install the JDM smoked or clear sidemarkers. I decided to try it last night and to my surprise it only took me 20 minutes. Here is how I did it:
Tools:
10mm socket
Flat Head Screwdriver
Phillips screwdriver as pictured below
With the 10mm socket start right under the sidemarkers and take off the ~6 bolts holding the plastic underside protector. You don't have to take the plastic all the way off, just enough to bend it some. Then use the Flat head to take out the two plastic rivets and you shold now be able to move the plastic enough to see up into the front end and take out the markers.
The drivers side is very easy. The passenger side has the windshield fluid tank in the way but with the use of the screwdriver pictured above you can fit into the small space provided and take it off. There is no need to take off the front end as stated by others.
I'm very used to working on cars, but this was the first time ever being under the 350z. Total time for me was 20 minutes.
I hope this helps anyone getting ready to do this..

The markers don't have bulbs. You can buy some that have bulbs added to them, but then you have to wire them into the car. As far as I can tell the sidemarkers are just for show.

they are reflectors not illuminating lenses(tho that can always be changed)
anyway, yes if your just replacing them, not wiring anything, its easy to just pull out from the bottom with a screw driver like that. wiring requires you to get up by the headlight.
the law is that it must reflect amber, its kinda curious because some cars dont even have that reflector at all, but I guess if the car does, gotta be amber.

Cool
All it takes is one great idea!
I installed mine the old fashioned way - bumper off. However, after the second time of removing that thing it gets pretty easy.
Used jack stands with the wheels off for space.

Well 20 minutes turn into 2 hours of work for me. Driver side took 5 minutes passanger side took 1 h 55 min. Damn winshild wiper fluid bottle! I got the bottom one off but the top bolt took me for ever. I finally rip the marker off with one bolt on it and jiggled it until the top bolt was little loose than I took it off with little bit of muscle. I hope I don't have to replace those things again. hehee

Need sanity check
I was wondering if the front side markers on the left and right side of the front grille where for show. Am I correct. Because they dont illuminate at all. Why would Nissan just add side markers and not have them illuminate.

Just used your method...drivers side...SIMPLE...passenger side...PITA!!!!...but once you got bolts loose enough it was just a matter of twisting off with your fingers....i just tightened them by hand...i wasn't about to attempt trying to tightening them with that stupid driver.

I replaced mine with a method from the other thread and as stated above, the passenger side took about 1 1/2 hrs and the drivers side took 10 minutes. I took the wheel off of each side. Once the windshield wiper reservoir was out of the way, there was plenty of room to do it with a short phillips. If you're patient, the reservoir isn't so bad.
