Default bought with paint in bad condition

.. i did search, but it was kinda hard to figure out what fuking words to use for this in the search thing

i bought my car about 8 months ago and you could tell the driver took pretty shi**y care of the car, the curb rash on the wheels im not to worried about being that ill be getting some new wheels within the month but i dont know what to do about the paint. its black so everything shows anyways but the front bumper and hood are kinda messed up from rock chips. Besides that the paints just not lookin to great.. i really should get a paint job but i can afford that now.. knowing nothing about paint or exterior, is there anything else i can do to make things a bit better?

Let said before, it's kinda hard to tell without pics and even then it will still be hard to tell. If it is bad, maybe it could be wet sanded. Aside from the paint, what was the maintenance like?

If it's paint chips too much damage has been done to the clear, most likely. Nothing you can really do except to maintain the paint the best you can until you can afford a respray. I would recommend not to wetsand. IF you do that you'll have to have the car buffed, which would negate money that could be used toward a paint job.

rock chips on the bumper/hood doesnt mean the PO didn't take care of it. Nissan has notoriously bad paint and if you don't have a bra, there's not much you can do about those.

touch it up as best you can, give it a good buff and call it a day until you can afford a GOOD paint job.

the bumper is not too bad. You would need to wetsand with a 2000-2500 grit paper and buff it back out with compound a machine. There will still be tiny little dots of chips but it will look a lot better because you are smoothing the clear coat around the chips.

Worst case scenario.. you do a bad job and it looks bad.
It already looks bad.

Just do some googling and check out some tutorials.. its not too difficult.
