still looks decent in the picture but definatly a fake. I bet the quality is so so in person, or how quick the material wears.

The genuine side aluminum bracket has two bolts only. and the bottom portion is curved. The fake one has 4 bolts and the bottom portion of the bracket is not curved. Also, the carbon kevlar pattern is different from the original.

+1. Also look at the stitching.

Tee's USA stole the Bride name and is now having the seats made in Taiwan.

http://philstarsays.blogspot.com/200...-schedule.html

The main picture (w/ the white background) used on the ebay auction is the authentic Bride Gias picture. The picture w/ the black background is not. That picture shows the shell in black and says it's fiberglass.

"The GIAS Sport is part of BRIDE`s `Low Max` series based off of the GIAS model as a more affordable version. Instead of the aluminum frames the GIAS Sport has a steel frame and instead of the Carbon FRP shell, the GIAS Sport has a metallic silver finish on an FRP shell. It is also available in only one color with classic stitch design."

Cliff notes: Bride Gias seat for $500 + Gradation + black fiberglass shell = fake

Not to mention, the fit and finish of the fabric and stitching looks like ***.

Interesting..... I've never heard that before.

Is Tee's USA not the distributer for Bride?

When you visit Bride japan website, they are still coming out w/ new designs w/ the BRIDE name....

Yes, they were. But as far as I know, Bride Japan never registered/trademarked their name in the United States. Tee's decided to do register it, and they basically now own the Bride company in the U.S.

I believe this is all recent news, so they have not made the name change yet. If you go to http://www.bride-jp.com/ it says "Copyright (C) 2003 Tee's Corporation. All Rights Reserved " at the bottom.

Bride Japan can still keep the Bride name, but they do not want any association with Bride USA. Someone in the U.S. has been talking with Bride Japan and suggested the new name of "Vice". As in, "These seats will hold you like a vise grip" - spelling vise incorrectly I believe Bride Japan is actually considering changing the name to Vice.

Hello,

LOT USA is, actually:

http://www.lot-usa.com/aboutus/index.html

Tee's was, previously, the U.S. importer.

EDIT: edited for Bebe's post.

Even if it was the genuine article, I would be turned off by the horrible stitching in the middle.

that "blog" is COMPLETELY inaccurate as to the situation - there should be rules about posting stuff on the interweb! And people should definitely learn to read Japanese if they are going to post this stuff because a quick synopsis of the situation is posted right on Bride Japan's site, as well as a list of their worldwide partners/distributors
