hell no. I'd never paint my cf hood, i had it wet sanded and re clearcoated but would never paint it, if your going to paint over the cf hood, buy a fiberglass one, and paint that. IMO the weave is just too pretty to paint over.

Aesthetic Enhancements! Stock is boring! Cars are like a blank canvas, you have to put something on them to make it art. If you don't.... it's just a blank piece of paper. You, my friend, need to step OUTSIDE the box.

exactly. lets be forreal as much as i love the Z, it's not really all that in stock mode, you don't have to go extreme with the body kits to keep it clean. Why would u buy a cf hood just to paint over it? why? Comon now, don't tell me its cuz it makes the body lighter, the stock hood is light already. sheeeesh

No. I just got mine on, and oddly enough, the VS II black is just different enough from Super Black to make it stand out but not look out of place.

Next step is to get it clear coated to protect it.

There is no good reason to have a CF hood on the z except for asthetics. Our stock hood is very light, not much heavier than a cf hood, so the only thing they do for our car is give it a different look.

So, knowing that, why would you get one if not for looks? You probably wouldnt, and that being the case, why paint it if you already have a black Z?

CF hoods are overrated a lot of the time. Some cars can pull it off but most people that have CF hoods just didn't pick the right one or just didn't do it right at all.

I see the CF as a cute item only, the weight difference is very minimal. Though if you do go with the CF hood, why paint & hide the fact that your paid $$$$ for CF & are now trying to hide this.
