Carbon fiber hoods are a bit difficult to paint because it doesn't have a really smooth finish like aluminum or stock hoods. Close up or on certain angles, it will show a little bit of the weave of the CF surface wise. You could have the best paint job and paint, but I've never seen a painted CF hood without the surface weave from the CF. Looks worse than orange peel IMO.

Thats cause someone didnt put enought prep work into it. You should lay down a good thick sealer before the paint and block that sealer s that it's flat and smooth as hell. Then lay your paint and clear. If you do it right you wont ever know its carbon fiber.

Except for the disgusting waves in carbon fiber hoods. Carbon fiber is never perfectly flat like a normal factory hood is, I don't recommend painting them just because it will look like your carbon fiber hood is just a stock hood with crappy body work.
