So is there a way to make the doors lock/unlock automatically?
mine locks and unlocks by itself, though I think its because of my Python 990 security system. I can't even remember if mine did it automatically before I put it on...lol..it was installed like a week after I got my Z!
ya mine does it too, but its cuz of the aftermarket alarm.
nissan alarm sucks...after i read so many posts about peoples cars getting broken into i said screw it and forked out the 500 bucks...
so now i get auto door locks, dome light supervision and a whole slew of other goodies too.

I have a Viper 5000, it will auto lock when started that I thought was pretty cool. Then one morning heading out off to work at 5AM I start the car with the door open cuz I was going to let it warm up while I took the trash out in the dark. While dragging the trash can past the open door I got too close, bumped the door shut, motor running house keys locked safely inside the car.
I now have the autolock feature disabled, it's not worth the hassle, there's a little toggle button right next to your arm that will lock both doors when ever you want them locked, the good part is you will most likely be inside the vehicle when it's locked and that's a good thing.

I still managed to lock myself out once... was working on the inside of the car messing with the power locks, had the drivers side door closed.. went out the passenger side, forgot to make sure the doors were unlocked. Ofcourse I left the keys inside.

My alarm system has a feature where I can engage the alarm while inside the car with the engine running, then if it was taken at gun point (the only way they'll get it from me), once a door is opened it will time out in 3 min start flashing the lights, sounding the horn, siren and will not restart if the engine stops.
+1 alarm does it for me. the brake is the trigger to lock the doors, the parking brake is the trigger to unlock them.
of course it also leaves the engine running till I shut the last door even though Ive removed the key. then I close the door, locks it, turns off the engine. gaurenteeing I cant hit the remote start and have left the car in gear. since it bypasses the clutch sensor for obvious reasons, it cant know its in nuetral any other way.
people give me funny looks when the car shuts off when the door closes.
