Default Question: 2008 Headlight Q&A ?? :)

Hey, I just installed my brand new 08 Blacked out headlights I had Mr.Zipps black them out. He did a Great job....

Anyway when I turn my headlights on the passenger bulb fires up and it turns a funky color not the normal bright blue and which dims down to whitish blue once heated up...

The color is either a light light purple or yellow... My overall question for any experts is A. Is it normal B. Is it the bulb C. Is it the ballast. D. Nothing is wrong thats how all the 06-08 HIDs are... (My 04 HIDS never did this)

Please only serious comments, I just want to know if I should take it to the dealer and have them swap out the bulb or ballast since they are brand new.

Thanks for the help in advance!!

Side note: The drivers side turns on and goes to the normal blue color and then whitish blue.

On the passenger side is where it is a complete different color and takes 1 minute to get into the normal whitish blue color.

My concern is if the bulb is defective...

should be fine if the color eventually settles. I imagine it was not very warm out. It takes sometime for bulbs to heat up and be at the right temperature. Unless they are uneven in brightness, it should be ok.

The car is in my garage being stored so its around 55 degrees in there...

The bulb looks like it is a little dimmer then the other to be honest....? It could just be my eyes on that, but I had the 04 HID bulbs for 4 years they were always the exact same color to the naked eye on start up and while warmed up... These are not, the drivers side is normal the passenger side is a little less blue more yellow when warmed up...

I am just really picky because I just spent an arm and a leg on this setup...

did you buy it new. Easiest way to tell is just take the bulbs out and switch the two. Its very unlikely that the ballast is faulty. However it's not impossible that the current is unstable with one side causing it.

But most likely it's a faulty bulb.

Hey thanks for your input... I appreciate it!! I wonder if I can get to the bulb without having to take the bumper and headlight off.... Should be able to go through the fender hopefully....

you should be able to. just make sure you take the liner off instead of trying to jam your hand through a small gap.
