How I owned myself installing hood pins.
First things first, I drilled the plastic radiator cover, making sure to put a piece of thin steel under it to block the drill bit from hitting the radiator. Once the bolts were installed I put some thick foam padding on the underside of the hood, I closed the hood and pushed down on it would leave a mark. I opened the hood up and drilled were the marks were. Next step was to go a bit bigger, large enough to fit my dremel bit into the hole. that went fine. I started to dremel the hole out to the size I needed and my old bit (3-4 years old) broke on me. DOH!
So, I ran to the hardware store and picked up a new one and at that point it was getting late, I didn't want to **** off the neighbors anymore then I had to, keep in mind I live an a apartment and have people who live over top my garage to to the right of me. I try to be nice and not **** people off. I called my friend up and asked if I could use his driveway since A. he has a big yard and B. I could care less if I pissed his neighbors off. Once I got there I went to put out the top piece of the hood pin to mark just how big I needed the hole... oh crap! I forgot it. I had both bolts, washers, and nuts but no hood pin tops =( DAMN! so I did what any responsible person would do. I continued without them. I opened the holes up big enough to fit the bolts through. I made 2 nice holes and was on my way. I got home and realized that while in my mind the hood pins were round, they were really more of a rectangle. DOH! so now my holes were too big and while the pin tops would easily cover the holes, the 2 screws used to hold the pin tops down had next to nothing to grab onto.
Lesson learned, make sure you have all your parts before drilling holes!!!! it's pretty much a no brainer but in my head it made perfect sense. really. it did
I'm not one to give up and buy larger hood pins like the AeroCatch that would easily fill the hole. Keep in mind I'm like 1 of 3 users on this forum that dislike them.
Anywho, I figured what the hell, I'll just take a piece of aluminum, I think it was 16 or 18 gauge and I built myself a piece to bolt into it. I also dislike the screws the Sperco pins came with so I went ahead and put some black allen key type bolts in place. I also painted the new bracket so it would look somewhat like it was meant to be there.
Here are the pictures of the finished product.

In the end, all is well. Only down side is a 30 minute job turned into 2 hours.

Jeffie, you have setup similar to r0mey, except yours is a red coupe with different wheels. Regardless nice work and keep us updated. Btw, it looks like you could use some tricked out headlights
