Default Your view on paddle shift???

As we start to see more an more cars start to come out with a paddle shift option, whats your view on it vs. a standard manual?? Do you like it or dislike it? And do you think that it will start to phase your traditional manual? (please only people who drive manual all the time, NO AT guys opinions sorry)

Me personally I think paddle shift is the gayest thing since FWD. The few cars i have driven and ridden in it with I thought were terrible. I feel out of touch with car, and it makes the car feel boring to drive. Sure it shifts faster and might make the car faster on the road course but how often is the average driver there. If the traditional manual fades out I will not be a happy driver.

I'm sure in the right car it would be a good experience. Personally, I would not buy one though, I love my 6spd!

Paddle shifting is pretty much the same thing as the auto-stick that has been around for at lest five years now, and the next step after the ability to downshift an AT by slamming the gas pedal down. Kind of gives the AT guys the feeling of a little more control, I guess. A good question/study would be to find out how many people with paddle shifters/auto-sticks actually use them after the first few weeks or so.

But I don't think they will ever completely get rid of manual transmissions. It might move more into a specialized/enthusiast role, but I think at least some demand will keep it available for quite a while.

i feel like it might die out only cuz the new EVO MR only come in paddle and the EVO GSR only comes in a 5sp not even a 6sp. I use the evo as an example because its a pure drivers car.

theres also a black box in the car that if you tune it or change anything in the ECU so when it goes in to service theyll know you played with it. And theres a speed limiter of 115. do some research

You're such an idiot, newb! What are you talking about!? Do some research on the GT-R and I can prove you wrong. I guarantee you it'll run faster than 115mph.

theres a black box in it so if you change the ECU they know and if you wanna go over 115 you have to enter circuit mode which then void your warranty.

I love it!!! The G and Z should have come with it. Couldn't imagine having another automatic without it.
