Default Question for those without splash guards

If you do not have splash guards, have you had any problems with chipping and mud on the sides of the car?

The more I look at them, the more I think about removing them.

mine did fine for 4000miles or so, no scratches or dirt.

now I have the new wider tires, I get dirt behind the rear tires, and I have 3 chips behind the driver door, but its only like 6" from bottom, and right between the door and the wheel well, so its in an odd place for a rock to hit from the tire. if it did come from a tire, it had to come from the front tire...

the dirt isnt bad at all, and I got those 3 chips in what seemed to be the same time, as I notice them all togehter. and havent had any more in the last 1000 miles, so it could be totally unrelated.

ME too although I had the fronts installed and never bothered with the rears. THe rears look like crap (like they dont belong)
The fronts look racy and make the car look lower and meaner!

Do you have the option to Not order splash guards ?
My dealer told me the car would have to be ordered with them.
Something about the order gets kick back if they try to order a car with out them..
Sounded like bull to me...

Yes and smells like bull.... to me.

Splash guards are an add-on and would only come on a car that the dealer has already ordered and is willing to let you think that you're ordering it.

Default Took off the rear guards - better?

I took off the rear guards and washed it up. If you happen to do it watch out for the clips that the screws are fastened with. I had not seen them until my sponge knocked one off.

I noticed that even though they were tight, some movement was evident from scratches underneath them. They also hold a lot of dirt. I thought I was cleaning pretty good but if they go back on I'll pull them once a month just to get them righteous.

Here is a picture after removal.
