Default who would be interested in a REAL CF Dash?

I have recently made some connections with a CF manufacture, that would produce real replacement CF center consuls. This would only be produced with enough interest. These will definately not be cheap. I believe it would be just plain old CF, or for more support can be made with fiberglass and wrapped in real CF. This would not be an overlay CF. DIRECT REPLACEMENT!!!!!!!!!
Show interest, and I'll let my manufacture know.
Now my concerns: how well is the CF gonna hold up a heavy radio head unit? -I think this is where fiber would help with reinforcement.
any other concerns, please post.....
and of course people that would be interested, POST UP.
thanks.

What purpose does it serve? Weight loss? Would you still have the cubby and change/storage compartments?

looks of course. I don't think anyone on this site buys CF for weight loss. Look at how many people have CF hoods when our hoods are light already.

I'd be interested, but only with the Fiber backing. I'm pretty sure straight CF would be too weak in the long haul.

Do you have price range for this?

I'd be interested in this entire section circled in CF. Kind of like how Porsche does it.

direct replacements are the way it should be cause with overlays you can still see the original panels on the edges, looks stupid.

lots of good points here. there is really no protype in production yet. this is to gauge serious interest to possibly have them produced. I am definitely a believer in "form, must follow function" type of guy, so hopefully these would retain cubbies, fit like factory, and possibly save some wgt.- although, lets be realistic....... how much wgt can we really save with these pieces being CF??
the one gripe i have about our cars are our "plastic-like/cheap feeling" interiors, and this would be one touch, to up the interior feel of our cars.... in other words, have asthetic pleasing factors without that GHETTO overlay type feel.
as for now, i think we would focus on the top portions of the Z's consul, and later maybe develope the lower portion.
thanks for all the input so far.

i'd chime in.. whole CF replacement dash would be teh lose. resin smell when your car is sitting under the sun would suck big time.

weight savings? ha. with pieces like this, no company is going to spend the time to bag any of the pieces for a street car, so you'll see minimal savings. then you'd have to realize that in a crash, the stock plastic ones would probably just bend or crack slightly. the carbon ones would most likely splinter and shatter, creating probably even sharper edges than plastic. carbon shards in your skin will be 1. ouch, 2. don't degrade easily 3. probably cut more.

the only thing i can seriously see being produced nicely in CF, would be the shifter cup ring that goes and holds the leather around the shiftboot. anything else i'd probably ignore...

I don't think anyone is concerned about weight savings with these type of products. CF interiors are for cosmetic reasons only.

Nor sure about the smell of resin either. Other makes such as porsche, ferrari and lamborghini offer lots of CF in their interiors without any such complaints. The entire dash might be match, but other parts such as a center console would be reasonable.

Here's a porsche center console in CF. No overlays here.
