Default Ruberized coating peeling off radio

I hav a 06 zr with 16k miles and the ruber coating is coming off the bose radio. I went into the dealer and they said this is normal wear and tear. Is it? should they replace the bose unit?
Thanks Shawn

I have a light scratch in mine. It drives me nuts. This rubberized coating is all over the interior and scratches too easily. My door switch panels are a mess. Its definetly not "normal", but it seems to be normal for 350z's. We should have this crap in a $30k+ car...

I brought mine for a service just a couple of weeks ago and have my center console changed, together with my door handle area, cause they'r all scratched. My dealer agreed to changed everythign for me since it was still under warranty. While changing out the parts, somehow they scratched my radio **** as well.

When I saw it, I asked them... and they told me not to worry and will order a new part for me... so I'm happy.. gona take her back for new radio **** tomrrow...

My door handles and button to open the center console is also scratched. I have 16k miles and extended warranty. Is this under warranty?

I think the newer Z or '06 and up have that problem.

Im going in for this on Thursday this week. It drives me nuts. (Not to take over the thread) But does anyone have a crappy bose 6 disc stereo? The piece of S... skips non stop everyday since I got it. Never spilled anything on it and the CDs are brand new - no scratches. I still have a little bit of warrnty left and Nissan said its covered.

Normal = NO

I've had my interior replaced because of faulty paint, plastics.
Take your car to another deal and push the issue.
