I understand that it might be about standing up for yourself or going after someone who did indeed scam you, but if it's not for that reason, I think simply putting this type of info out for everyone to read is good enough. Guess I don't really have room to talk since i'm not in your shoes though. Just one mans opinion. I just can't see someone this big in the online biz, do this with out good reason????

Again man, good luck to you!!

Thanks man. That's why I didn't jump to conclusions at first. I'm getting a lawyer because not only is he one of our most frequent customers, he's also a friend and he wants to see my car back on the road as much as I do. And when I bring all these other instances of lights messing up to his attention, it will be even ore reason to go after him.

Smitty that might be the reason he has not sent yours back he can't fix the lens.

Could it be that the paint wasn't cured when they were resealed? Maybe snagging a pair of the ebay lights and robbing the lenses would be a cheap alternative since the paint should be cured by now?

I feel your pain. I just trashed my old set of modified lights (spent $1,600 total) due to hazing and bought a new pair. Check out onlinenissanparts.com if you need a new set. They advertise here and they had the best price.

I believe the hazing can be fixed but it's not an easy process. I was going to do it with my old headlamps and it requires a lot of wet sanding and polishing.

One of the main problems I'm seeing with the paint on mine is that the paint wasn't allowed enough time to cure. Also (and I know it's not a must) there wasn't any primer used in the process of painting. I painted my '04 headlamps and did a couple of coats of primer before paint and they turned out smooth and nice. The ones I have currently are '06's painted in gloss and they have a little "orange-peel" look. I'll post some pics later when I get home.

Sanding/polishing the inside of the lens would damage the protective coating. I believe it's for UV protection.

Nice to see that your group is wanting/willing to help him out on his predicament.

What he said^^ is the troof or is it??? That's what the guy fixing my lamps told me the fumes of the silicon not the paint did the damage and he tried sanding/polishing the inside and it dose damage the coating. I was about to have Mr. Zipps fix his mistake but it looks as I might have done the right move by having somebody else fix them, Since he is not returning the headlights or responding. Mr. Zipps should hook me up with some $$$ at least refund me what I paid for him to F***^ my brand new lights.-lol I can only make fun of the situation since I am already screwed and have to pay up no need to make myself more

Add me to the list of customers that has hazing on the inside of one of my headlights that Mr. Zipps did for me back in January. I've tried contacting him and got the same reply that he is away on personal business. Hope I can get the hazing fixed. It kinda pisses you off when it happens to brand new headlights after only a couple months. Is it possible to buy just the cover?

That's one of the methods and yeah it will probably take off the UV coating. I have my '04 headlamp taken apart and the stuff comes off when you run your fingernail across it. I'm going to try some wax later to see if it'll be just coarse enough to pull the hazing off. My problem may be different though. I had condensation build up in the lamp and it burned out the bulb. It left behind a hazy residue like what was in the linked post.

On another note, I think Mr. Zipps needs to hurry up and respond before any of us get more restless about this.

IMO - This has been more than enough to safely say that Mr Zipp's rep has been destroyed. I would never do business with him now.

That problem is caused by the "outgassing" of the sealant. It actually eats away the lense...

Also, maybe Mr. Zipps is locked up or dead?
