Question Simple HID Question.

I've been looking over the old threads trying to find out if someone makes an HID bulb that's brighter than stock. By brighter I mean more light, not SUPER RICER, "hope it doesn't rain" blue. I want no more than 5000k. Anyone upgraded theirs?

more light...stick with 4300k.

i upped mine to 8000k and im happy with it. not too blue and still bright enough to see well but if you want BRIGHT lights stay with what you got. the higher the number to darker they are.

If you're a DIY kinda guy, consider keeping your stockers and swapping in the STi replica lens if you have 06+ lights. You'll see a WORLD of difference for MUCH cheaper than an HID upgrade will be.

Hmm would the lenses fit right in as a replacement? Also would it be difficult to work on if the housing has already been opened up and resealed from previous work?

Have you done that before Subrwho? The STI lens a direct fit?

...or you could go with an aftermarket 55W HID kit instead of stock 35W. But not many people have done it so there isn't a lot of info on its reliability yet... Plus the HID capsules wont last as long. You shold check out www.hidplanet.com they have some good stuff and extremely knowledgable people in the forums when it comes to 'retrofitting' different projectors into your headlights. Might be able to get some S2K projectors, those are awesome...

Yes it is a direct fit. I've done about 10 sets in the last month if not more as well as shipped just the lenses out for DIYers. The lenses come with spacers for proper placement and pics can be seen on my website of what it looks like.

As for doing on lights that have already been worked on, you'll be fine as long as you use OEM sealant to get a good re seal. Done MANY lights that had previous work done to them.

i would so do that but thats expensive right now and im guessing time consuming

^ its really not that expensive, pm nic jamez or tb @ cincity for a quote, they can do it for you or send you the lenses for a DIY its not as time consuming as u might think.

so far what i heard, if you have more than 6000k with 03~05 HID lense, lense will melt eventually.

Never heard of melting the lenses... Just checking to see if light output on all HID bulbs of the same color was the same. You know how much brighter than normal halogens the Silverstars are.

who told you that? lol.

you know the kelvin scale is color only, has nothing to do with heat.

Get some 55w aftermarket kit, that's the only way it'll be brighter than stock. All the higher K bulbs are dimmer.
