Satin Black Z
Well, to those who are trying to "help", here we go:
First of all, it was sanded completely down, removed all that silver paint inside and out. The "previos owner" had nice factory silver paint and custom dents all over the car, including the middle of the roof... so if it was going to get body work done, I might as well paint it whatever color I wanted.
The car received primer and a satin black / intermediate clear single stage paint, the painter (This was done at a bodyshop by a professional painter, it's not a 12-pack of Krylon cans from Home Depot) got the paint code and stuff from a shop who does Satin Black cars somewhere in Georgia, and he did 6 coats of paint. I saw what happens to it when it's sanded and what happens when it's scrubbed with a brush. That nasty bumpy flat look comes off, it looks smooth and SATIN much like the BMW / S15 in the pics posted by others. Sanded it just looks closer to white/gray than it does black.
I just haven't had the time to finish it up. When it's done, IF I decide it's still too flat, he said to bring it back and he'll do a light coat of intermediate clear, letting me see it before coats, 'til I think it looks fine.
Oh, if he sprays regular clear over it, even if it's just one coat, it looks like normal gloss black, amazing ain't it?
And yes, I said dim witted, and your reply was less witty than your original post. One guy said something hilarious at least, it was:
See now HIS was witty. The rest of you chumps just speak for the sake of it..
And I didn't ask for opinions, anywhere, I posted it so when someone like myself decides they want to see what a flat OR a satin black Z looks like they can hit the Search button and actually find something. *Much like the 2 people that PM'd me for more pics*
Adios.

Nothing but INFORMATION and in the case that someone doesn't like what someone else did, they get constructive criticism, but never pointless, disrespectful comments. I mean, I can deal with it, it really doesn't bother me, lots of "keyboard warriors" out there... sucks they seem to be attracted to the first 350Z forum I decided to join though, haha.
Anyway, adios.
Snaponbrian, how come your color looks a little too shiney?
and as far as that paint curing, it's needs another coat of something, it took mine car almost 3 weeks to get it the job done, because a lot of trial and error, there's a flatening agent you add to the clear coat to give it a flat look, i'd tell that dude to redo it man. It's not an easy paint job to do man, it really tests the automotive painters ability to spray. My guy had to clean and pressure wash his whole paint booth before he could start spraying my car. In the long run i think you get what you pay for.
Here's the final product of my satin black 350

Who makes this CF front bumper? Only one I found was extreme dimensions which I heard is bad. Sorry to hijack the thread.
As for the original thread........I don't feel it much but I guess I we would need to see the final results. That BMW is just pure sex though!

With that said, those other flat black cars still have a little sheen to them

The car in it's current state reminds me of this CF Z
