Hi all. I've seen a couple of places it mentioned that if you have the auto dimming rearview mirror that it should have a compass as well. I know that my rearview mirror dims but I don't have a compass? I can easily live without it but I'm just going nuts with curiosity over this.

Take a deep breathe ... you aren't crazy nor have we been shorted anything.

The autodimming mirror with the compass can be purchased from Nissan dealers aftermarket for anywhere from $260 to $280 (I've priced it at a couple of different dealerships including Courtesy) cause I missed the compass feature that I had on my previous vehicle (2001 Yukon).

It's nice to have - but not necessary. I just got a little spoiled having it and since I didn't have a nav system - thought I'd better get a little direction in my life. They weren't the stock auto dimming mirrors in the 2003 models that featured such mirrors but I understand they will be the standard for such 2004 models.

I can live without it. Even in the manual they talk about it. I'd never heard the two not mentioned together (auto dimming/compass). Just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something right.
