i have never disabled DRL on a car before, but have read in other forums its usually as easy as pulling a fuse. not positive though.

The US version does not have DRL. However, I believe that the Canadian version does. If they are selling in western europe, those must also have DRL. Not sure what you are looking for, but I hope this helps.
Thanx guys for the reply......... My car is a Canadian sped, and I know it's safer, but dont you think it's a bit weird being the only one on the road with the lights-on on a sunny day"which is all year round here!!"
Thanx and plz help

On the DRL cars, there is a controller located beside the battery inside the cover. I haven't looked how to disable it. You might start there, however.
I actually want DRLs on my US car. I haven't worked too hard to figure out what the difference is between US and Canadian cars yet, though, besides this controller.

Vegas is a shady place to buy a car. They like to put as much stuff on your car right on the lot before you buy as they can. You end up with a bunch of overpriced crap that you don't want, and is just a sneaky way for the dealer to make much more money off of you.
My dealership included DRL's for $250, but when my car was delivered....hmmm....no DRL's. So I call the service station and they guy goes, do you actually want them?
I'm all, give me the $250 back or put them in damn it. I should mention that I got all the extras for free as I talked them down about 5k from the dealer sticker (they don't even show the manufacturer sticker...isn't there a law about that?)
Now the funny part is, I think they just wired them to be on all the time. They are not dimmed to 60%, they are just on, day or night as soon as I start the car, there they are. Now at night, even though I have a lit-up dash and full headlights, I still have to "turn my lights on" for the rest of the interior. There are some amber lights and some small bulbs that also turn on in addition to the HID's.
I like the look during the day but I think it's stupid. How can they charge someone 250 to connect some damn wires....I hate my dealership. They're so dirty.
Normal daytime running lights aren't your full lights and as I recall they are pretty dim at night so you now to turn you damn headlights on, I forget all they time cause, oh yeah, everything is always light up. Wierd....they should have some kind of daylight sensor or something to change the brightness....I don't know

Is there a possible online method to contact a service center that knows about such problems??

I don't have DRL, but I always drive with my headlights on anyway, because I've had too many close calls from stupid/inattentive drivers, and I think it's a very low-effort way to avoid getting hit.

Id guess this "controller" would involve a relay and a resistor type setup, feeding power to the brights. thus turning them on with the acc power, but only giving them ~60% power.

The question is does this thing hook into the CAN system, or is it a simple relay. The box is bigger than a simple relay in the pics.

I have no idea how to disable them. What I would do if I were you, though, would be to disconnect the controller and see what happens. Then you can start tracing what the difference from the Canadian cars and the US cars are. The box is located under the battery cover on the passenger side of the car, and should be easy to unplug. I can't remember if you have to take the cowling off, or if you can access it just from the battery cover.
If you can't find it, I can post you a pic from the manual, but it should be pretty easy to find.
Also, let us know if you find out how to disable them, as it might help us figure out what parts we need to add them. There are aftermarket ways to do DRLs, but I'd prefer to have them work the Nissan way instead of some one-size-fits all generic part.
thats opposite, youd have to run a new power feed to your brights, cut the current by 40% and put a relay so they come on with the car.
when you put your brights on the extra 40% in the other power line will just make em brighter. not sure if they should turn off when your regular lights come on. thatd make things more complicated.

I dont have a 350Z YET, but I do live in Canada and have taken out the day time running light in my current car. All it is is a relay under the hood. I just pulled that out and no more daytime running lights. I'm sure it must be the same for the 350Z. Check the manual. In there it should show which relay is for the daytime running lights.
