Default Reir veiw mirror

So I got a broadway mirror for my z ... My problem now is that it won't fit because the track comes with the auto dimming mirror with a garage door opener built in. Does anyone know what I have to replace to put a plain 350z rear veiw miror there?

I know it's hassle but i want my broadway mirror on and I never use the garage door opener IDK why that's on the track model in the first place.

woops.. sorry about the spelling. Like I don't get how you juys like the garage door opener and self tinting mirror. I think it's a waste. Same with auto mirrors. All sports cars should have roll up windows and simple things... less weight the better in my book. I can't wait till i get the time to gutt the hell out of my car and put in a roll cage .

If you designed cars... I'd never buy one and I'd punch you in the face.

lol... so i'm guessing you would never buy an enzo cuz it has rolly down windows?

There are so many things that go wrong or can go wrong with electric windows anyway. Plus if i designed a car it would be geared for racing not pussyfooting

I have a broadway mirror from my previous car, and it fits the Z, but you really have to stretch it. It does fall off if you touch the mirror too hard.

I just went through the exact same situation.
What i did was i completely removed the stock rear view mirror.
Very easy.
Just unscrew the screw holding it in.
Slide it up and remove it.
Unplug the HOMELINK wiring harness and just tuck it under the headliner (easy)
Then open up the actual mirror and unscrew it from the base
Then you can find a way to attach the base to the new broadway mirror

So to clear things up.
I did remove my HOMELINK mirror and attach a broadway convex mirror to the stock base part.
So now i only have the Broadway mirror connected and it looks extremely clean and is functional

Edit: I first attached it conventionaly like most people but it looks stretched, obviously big and is very clustered, then flipped it upside down and thought it looked even more retarded so i removed it completely lol...IF YOU WANT TO ATTACH IT REALLY GOOD THEN JUST FLIP THE STOCK MIRROR UPSIDE DOWN WITH THE BUTTONS ON TOP, THEN ATTACH THE NEW MIRROR OVER IT....

Best part is that when you tuck the homelink wiring harness under the headliner, it stays there and looks as if nothing was ever there, so incase one day you want to re install your homelink one you just simply reach in and pull it out and plug it up.

I have alot more visibility and the look is even cleaner than the stock one. Very aftermarket looking with an oem finish.

your reasoning behind removing your mirror is just plain stupid......whether it be weight or just for looks

Looks like there are more dumb asses like the OP Sounds really awesome what you did.

NOT!

I'd understand if you had the normal mirror and wanted to upgrade...sigh

Track oriented cars should be equipped as you say.

Sports cars should still be equipped in a convenient way with options.

My 89 minivan had rolldown windows. Big weight savings and track biasing there.
