Default Road noise annoying from backend

I was driving home yesterday and the noise from that back end was annoying at speeds of 55-70mph.. It's like the back glass/frame is made of paper... is there anyway to insulate the hatch area some, without having to invest in expensive Dynamat and the such?

thought bout stuffing my backend with some pillows and comforters

thats the way it is with these cars. wait till you run over some gravel or drive in the rain, those wheels wells churn out the noise, the sacrifice we make for driving a 2 seater rear wheel drive sports car. You'll get used to it, or maybe you should've got a G35/37.

dynamat in the rear works pretty good i hear. jsut line the area where the spare tire is and you should diminish a bunch of noise. i also heard that brownstuff works pretty good as well.

Is it like a howling sound that you are hearing?

yes, pretty much.. it's not like a whistling sound or anything.. more like I can hear the car traveling over the roadway in the backend..

no, I hear it all the time, no matter if accelarating or coasting.. but, it's more noticiable at 55mph or higher.. normal driving in the city i don't notice it much at all.. but I can hear vehicles next to me more so than when I drive my RX8

I recommend dynomat or edead.
It definitely made a difference, even with a loud *** exhaust.

Yeah, there's alot of road noise that comes from that area. I bought some b-quiet mat from ebay (cheaper than buying from their b-quiet site) and am planning to line the cargo area with it.

I let you know if its effective.

If you drove a 4 door sedan the wheel wells would not be inside the cabin.

What kind of tires do you have? Some tires are noisier than others.

I happen to like the noise.
