Ok, I've got an '03 redline. My father drives an '03 Toyota Highlander. Every time I see his car I get pissed because he's driving a glorified Camry and a 350Z is a much better car than a Highlander. WHY THE FCK IS HIS PAINT GORGEOUS? Seriously it sparkles... No orange peel whatsoever. It makes me so angry. I'd have a hard time deciding what to spend five grand on: supercharger or paint that doesn't look like it came from a rattle can. A car such as the one we drive deserves better paint. I'll deal with the tire feathering and transmission problems, but my car shouldn't look like it was painted at a Kia factory. He drives a shtbox with an amazing paint job while I roll around in a finely tuned sports car with a paint job that looks like it was done by a kindergartener. Seriously WTF mate?

WTF IS WITH ALL THE ??? I'm drunk cut me some slack I just wanted to ***** a little about the paint. It sucks compared to a Toyota Highlander. Maybe I'm the only one offended by that.

 

Maybe try a claybar. It helps a bit with the orange peel. My Z had great paint. Sorry to hear about your sad state of affairs. The paint shouldn't be too bad.
I hope the car wasn't wrecked prior to you owning it or something.

To the OP, wash the car, claybar, polishing compound and then decent wax. Your Redline will look REALLY good. How do I know? I own a Redline, the same year and hey, I'm even in the same state.

trust me, when it's clean and taken care of, Redline Z looks amazing. I get complements on it all the time.

Yes, red paint fades the fastest but if taken care of, can last a long time and still look good. My friend has a red 93 300ZX and it still looks really good. I know it can be done. Now go out there and start washing your car

There's your problem right there. Redline is just plain red. No metallic "pop" like a lot of the other colors. That's why I passed on buying one once I saw it in person.

you have a flat colour on a six year old model vehicle. Detail hard or re-spray or better yet...both.
