Default Change your ride's color with films

This thing is getting popular here in South Korea. They put colored films over the entire exterior and Voila~ You got a flat black G35c... If you get sick of it, simply remove the film... I actually got to remove the film from a show case car at a car show and it wasn't too hard to peel it off, and it didn't leave any residues...

sick looking g. I would think that it would start to look like **** after driving on the highway a couple times... but it would be cool for shows.

I hear that it costs around 2k to do it.

Wait, I just noticed that some of the cars are right handed drive... This film technology came from Germany...
Is there any shop in US that does this?

genious...wow

but 2k is steep...then again, its a new thing so it will drop in price. Kinda feel bad for custom painters actually. Vynl is taking over and quickly.

Actually it's pretty resistant to scratches... These films are not that fragile as you might think. Think of it as one of those clear bras with color...

Looks legit though.

both gtrs look amazing. i am planning on getting my Z painted flat black, but i am going to see if i kind find someone that could apply this vinyl instead, price it out and compare. if i could get this done it would be awesome! that way i can bask in my matte-ness and revert to my true glossy self at any time !

but yea, not for 2k.

In Europe they do it alot, it started many years ago with the Taxi/Cabs. So that after a few years in service they could remove the film and sell a car that isn't yellow or ...
Film is pretty resistant, I asked to film my 350Z in white (because white isn't available in europe) and they quoted me 950€ (~1500$) if I would remove the lights, emblems, turnsignals myself

This type of vinyl application would be perfect for a car that is in shows and transported via trailer to the next..but for someone who drives the Z on a daily basis..this is not a good choice. I used to work in a vinyl shop and we did many vehicle wraps mostly commercial but those were prints so when it faded, it was hard to tell due to the colors. Single color vinyl just would not stand up to daily driving especially on the front bumper...IMO go with paint. Vinyl fades, wears, tears and starts to release after about a year causing pieces to come off during washing.
