Has anyone tried using a rivet gun to secure body parts. I just slapped on a front lip which fits pretty damn good but i see there are a few places where i'd like to add some assurance.. Has anyone used rivet guns or do the majority of Z guys just drill?
I used heavy-duty rivets for my CWest rears, and Varis Duct. Used screws for the Greddy sides, and bolts for the Veilside lip and Blitz rear spoiler...

Yeah, The lip is subjected to extreme front-on air flow when going highway speeds. Bolts are probably sturdier than rivets in that regard. I used 2 bolts per side on my CF Lip, along with fender washers to more evenly spread the torque of the bolts... I wanted to snug it up good without cracking anything. Holding beautifully.

all depends on what type of rivets your using. If you use the two piece heavy duty ones ( one part looks like a regular rivet and the back part looks like a flared flat washer ) these actually hold better than a bolt will as they will never loosen due to vibration. Only two drawbacks, one is if you want to remove the body piece you will have to drill the rivets out and two is that you don't have much control over how much tension will be applied to the part and fiberglass might tend to crack a little in the gel coat. A good spot to look at an extensive use of rivets and there load bearing capacity is in modern snow machines, probably over 300 rivets in most machines and you can beat the living tar out of these things all day long.

Rivets are good, and clean as well as screws it's more less preference. If you do not want silver rivets, you can order black ones.
I prefer Rivets. To me they Hold better, even when putting a washer behind the rivet. More Secure in my eyes!
