again, i dont have sweaty hands nor do my hands touch that part of the steering wheel. after thinking this over again, i believe this happened because of exposure to the sun. my car sat out in the sun for two days straight with the windows up. i guess the car got too hot inside and you can see the results. i dont know how else it could have happened...my hands simply do not come in contact with that part of the steering wheel.

oil/moisture in your hands will do wonders to any type of leather..

even the non suede leather wheel gets a little marked up..

what I know, I share. I've spent more than half my life modding every car I've ever owned....you tend to pick up a thing or two in all that time But one of the great things about the hobby is that you always can learn something new, and sometimes the stuff you learn outside the hobby can be applied directly to things you come across with your car

to the OP...get a suede brush and some suede cleaner, and you'll be good to go.

How do you turn the wheel? at 10 and 2? Your Hands NEVER ever move from that spot right?? And I bet when your Slideways it your hands are always at 10 and 2. My OEM steering wheel is kind of worn there also SO don't buy Nissan

Am I the only one who seems to think suede is an awful material for a steering wheel?

Probably just had it serviced or something. I know when I bought my G i had those in there for a good....2 months before I removed them...I liked the nice clean floor mats. I still have the original clear plastic protection thing under the floor mats

yea, suede type wheels are mainly meant for racing applications to be used with racing gloves. sure you can use them for daily car, but you're going to have to spend some time to maintain it.
