Default JDM Side Indicator Light(s)

Trying to get opinions out there on the JDM side marker light. I'm trying to decide between the JDM light and the 3 -dot light on the front bumper.

Any opinions?

I know the JDM light will require some minor body work. Where as the 3-dot will only require bumper removal.

Thanks in advance.

Ive been wonderin the same thing, tho Ive been kicking around the idea of puttin LEDs into the mirror to get the turn signal.

Im not sure if I like it or not, I like the clean lines, but I like the light... owell.

Actually, I'm kicking around your product with the 3/6/12 LED's in the front bumper reflector. However, when I see the Euro Z's and JDM Z's - the side marker light just below the Z logo looks nice as well. I think the body work (cut hole's) has me scared just a bit.

I don't like the light and the Z logo right by each other. I have been thinking about using 2000 and up BMW 330 lights. The ones from the 4 door only. They have a cool shape that I think would look good on a Z. I was thinking about mounting them up high simular to the BMW factory location. I'll look for a picture to post....

I say neither.

IMHO
- the JDM side fender markers are simply not flush in anyway, and look completely out of place
- If i had to choose between the two, i'd do the front bumper ones. However, in my mind it still looks a little tacky, and not as effective.

I would look around to see if anyone sells the Concept Z ones, which are essentially integrated into the side mirrors (ala mercedes). By far the cleanest.

i would stay away from the sidemarkers because its just one more thing for people to steal off the car. also its one of those mods that will be hard and time consuming to correct if you end up not liking it.

I like the idea of making the Z badge on the side the indicator light.

Someone else on the forum did this (sort of ) with 3 LEDs in the 3 square indentations on the Z.

I was thinking of taking it a step further. I purchased a Side Emblem. I have looked at it and decided it wouldn't be that hard to make a replica out of a clear resin (or epoxy). Then paint the black area black so that only the silver area, the Z and the outter circle (on the OEM emblem), would be clear (on the replica). Then place an electro luminecent sheet underneith it and light her up.

Now, that'd be cool. IMO

Bshockley Im looking into doing that, if I get it, I promise a set will be on its way to your doorstep for the idea.

luckily I have connections to resin sales, so I have all sorts of resin options at cost, and Im pretty much a pro at LEDs and lighting at this point.

however Ill be using black resin for the dark portions, as I wouldnt want the paint to ever flake off. sorta like a chocolate mold. paint in the portions that you want black, then fill the rest with the clear. set the LEDs right into it. and your golden.

emblem already on order. working on choosing the proper resin, ETA 2-3 weeks.

I've wanted the side mirror flashers for the car since I picked it out of the dealer show room floor! I am just waiting for a factory replacement. I just want it to be right and flawless!

That's pretty sweet. Yeah, I didn't like the painting part either. I had considered other options, but couldn't come up with any.

If you really are working on it, you should have said something earlier, I have an extra emblem I could have sent you.

Peace.
