Default Painted Dash

Hey I searched the Forum and got a lot of ideas about painting the dash. Sand, Prime, Paint,,etc...

I couldn't find any info on why I just can't re-paint over the dimpled surface. Is there a reason for this?

Anybody??

cause it looks like crap, and the paint probably won't stick to anything that isn't sanded. I mean by all means go ahead and try it, but I would recommend having a professional take care of it rather than doing it yourself.

i did my center console, i would highly highly highly recommend that yousand it all smooth, it looks great. I even bondo'd over my cupholders, lol. here is a pic of what mine looks like, it used to be bright red, lol. See how smooth it looks, it looks like it was professionally done and fiberglassed.

because i never used them, and look at it, i think it just looks better. go look at a stock 06 console. there is a slidy thing with cupholders in it. and i have the base model so there was a cover plate where the vdc stuff would normally go. why not cover them and make it smooth looking??? just my opinion.

i like my 05 interior pretty much the way it is. But you could try and repaint your door handle and the bar below it to match your dash?

If you paint the dash... you will most likely get a lot of glare from the sun while driving i would assume. But that being said... Im sure you can paint it over the rough surface, but it will look very very cheap imo.

the dealership put a nice scuff on my center console door, so I just took a black sharpie and filled it in :P.
