The number of chips on my bumper and hood are rising exponentially!
There is at least 10 visible spots on my hood. And its really pissing me off.
My car is only at 12k miles and although it is black, i dont think i should be seeing this many chips in it. I think im going to get the hood resprayed and clear bra'ed as soon as i can.
How many chips do you have on yours? Am i driving really bad? probably 6k of those miles are on highways...

the highway is where you get alot of the bumper and hood chips. dont ride close to the person in front of you, especially trucks. Pay extra attention to trucks with open tops stuff flies out of them all the time. (Kinda obvious but i figured i'd say it)

I have a big **** load of rock chips on my front bumper. Daily driving FTL!
I have recently been thinking of doing my next modification. It will be a new aftermarket front bumper. I want something simple and subtle, maybe Nismo or Amuse..

I've got a lot of chips on my front bumper and hood. It's from following behind cars on the highway like others mentioned.
As for trucks... semi's and whatnot... stay as far back from them as possible. My windshield is now cracked because of that...

Better off getting a CF hood.

Well if you ever get your stuff repainted I highly suggest a clear bra from 3M..Made to protect your front end, hood, side view mirrors. I recently installed one on my Z and its the best thing you'll do..I got a small chip the same day I drove the car from the dealer, so I refused to move it until I put in the Clear Bra

Also if you call the front end protection, a bra, would you call a product that protects the rear bumper, panties? "Yes I would like to order the front Clear Bra and the Rear Clear Panties for my Fairlady Z."

FIND a dealer near you that does the armorcoat spray on clear bra
We started doing it at my shop, it is shot on like a clear coat & when dry it feels like the 3M film.
Same type of durability just a lot cheaper & has much less line on the hood.
we do it on rocker panels & ground effects & grilles too.
