Factory navigation Antenna
sup everyone, first post but hey i need help =P. i am curious about the black antenna on top of my z. i am assuming its the factory navigation antenna, but i need to be sure. also is there anyway to re wire this antenna so it isnt on top of the car?

delivered! i bought the z used about 2 months ago, i figured it was just the nav antenna, but if anyone could pin point this for me i would appriciate it!!!

ya, nav is dvd based but still uses antenna to link with satelites, thats not it though.......
check your stereo - hit the "radio button" a few times and cycle though FM1 - FM2 - AM - SAT1 - SAT2.
one of those should SAT ones should work if service isnt interrupted/cancelled. but even then you should get previews and advertisements about registering the satelite radio in your car.

ya just checked it out, cycled through it and it came up as
"SR1 ch-000"
"SR2 ch-000"
and its obviously not registered...
any ideas on how to just remove this baby? i dont think dental floss will do the job=P

then from there remove the back end of your headliner in the car and stuff the remaining wire in the headliner and be done with it...

Try to obtain a heat gun, or just a hair dryer, and blast it for a bit. You might have to use fishing line as well, but it should come off. Then just use some goo gone and you should be able to clean it up back to factory fresh. Hopefully you don't have uneven paint fading though.

I've never understood why people put that crap on top of their cars. I put my XM receiver inside the rear strut bar and I get 100% reception and it's completely undetectable.
