Lexan/CF HATCH EXPERT NEEDED!
I can only imagine how "happy" things could get with less than 3/4 tank, no spare/tools, and a CF hatch/lexan.
Although, I do think the weight savings of a CF hood are proportionally minor compared to a CF hatch/lexan.

Do you know any places that would cornerbalance/do an alignment and possibly even set up coilovers in the NYC/Long Island area? The japanese instructions included with my Cusco Zero2 are difficult to understand and I don't know the proper range for how far the shock body and preload should be set to.
EDIT: Before reading on Muzzy... i still love your car and you rock a z like most can only dream
i guess since you're so eloquent i'll honor you with mimicry
WRONG!
though... to get full effect caps are required... maybe a picture too but im lazy
stock glass weighs about 5 lbs(if that)... just finished transferring mine over to a MG CF hatch...
and the stock hatch with glass (pulls out scale... brb...)
weighs just over 55lbs...
Disclaimer... this is on an 03 track so some weights may be a little off...
don't be mean AND stupid... pick one
if you want to look at some pretty good weight reduction stuff go here

ohh and just to add to the original question... if it hasn't already been beaten into da heads of all... yes drilling lexan is a pain in the *** and it cracks easy, no you don't need a special mounting kit... to help with the cracking use a lightweight cutting fluid (or WD-40 or something) and if you're really scared use a grinder bit instead of a drill bit... like with a dremel... sorry for all the "..." i can't help it... and as a general note with swapping hatches and glass the gooey rubbery sealant stuf around the mounting screws for the hinges will not hold up by itself... it tends to leak if you don't reapply it (is dumb and found out by having a grounded rear stoppy light in the middle thingy
I'm going to go with Muzzy on this. The stock glass does not weigh 5lbs it's considerably more. It's a pretty well known fact that lexan windows are a CONSIDERABLE weight loss and I believe Muzzy's weights are actual...meaning he weighed everything when he did his install.
I'm sorry dude, but I've read most of your posts and you give out alot of false and inaccuarate information.

I never said it wasn't a considerable weight loss... 5 lbs is a pretty decent loss for something that can actually be replaced on the car not just removed, but really, i can pick up the stock glass between my thumb and forefinger with it covered in WD-40 and slippery, and my 115lb wife can lift the stock hatch by herself and move it around the back yard (as she keeps doing to get it out of her way) it does not weight anything close to 150lbs, or even 100 for that matter... both the weights he has put out there are completely wrong, when I'm not snowed in I'll go get batteries for my camera and show you all pictures of at least the hatch on a damned scale or something.
the ONE post i made that was wrong (about pricing) was way off because I hadn't checked the prices in a few months and i immediately recanted, said I was wrong and posted a link to proof that i was wrong, one out of what 39. I challenge you to actually read a few of my posts and find something other than that ONE post. And let me know so I can fix it.

yeah?... he said the hatch weight with glass was 180lbs... minus the 35 is... 145... i just rounded to 150. those numbers were talking about the hatch without glass cause that's what i have sitting in my back yard, the glass weighs about 5 lbs which i reinstalled in the hatch. i'm going to go get weights from nissan when the roads clear up and we can stop arguing. all i'm really trying to say is that switching to CF hatch with lexan doesn't save 115 lbs or so... it's about 45 lbs difference, just like the post from 350ztech i linked up estimates. i hate arguing, i just thought it was worth pointing out the 60-70 lb difference between the posted weight loss and the actual weight loss. when it comes to racing that's a HUGE difference. If you could actually lose 115 lbs for only about $1200 that's like gold. It just seemed a little off to make the claim. Like i said originally also, my weights are for an 03 track. The difference might be that, but I doubt it.
stock hatch=47lbs... so i was wrong but right check this https://my350z.com/forum/members/arc...s-weights.html .. the picture with the weight is in the gallery there
.........anyways
i love the look of the bolts/rivs. make people think twice when pulling up next to u @ the light cus of how "professional" or "beast from the track" it looks.
cant wait for when i do it but rims/coilovers r next 4 me.
