Default My Veilside CF Lip!

after 2 hours of me and my buddy slaving in my garage and some extreme mickey mouse ****, i finally got my veilside vsv1 cf lip on.

and i like it!
even though i scrap it every time i drive up my driveway...
thinking about just taking a hammer, and smashing the concrete and just smoothing it out...does that work by anyones experience?!

Good job, Bro. Been wanting one of those for a while. Can't decide between that and the Stillen front splitter.

rofl do not smash out your curb. buy a ****ing 2x4 and lay it at the bottom of the driveway. it acts as a little step stool for your car :-)

Or learn how to angle slowly out of the drive? Lets see the pics of the driveway, are you even lowered? Also is the lip an authentic VSV1 or a evo-r cf vsv1? Looks like an evo-r lip from fitment but the pics are terrible so I can't tell, but from fitment being very tough/tight it might be a real one.

Yes, there is an authentic veilside lip for the 06-08. I have it on my 07'. Here is a picture.

Very nice!! I have the same lip and love it! Ya it was kind of a b1tch to put on, but after me and my friend got it on it fit really nice. And just like Z04 said, get used to those minor scrapes...I still scrape sometimes even after like a year of having the lip. As long as you don't hit it too hard and the scrapes are just MINOR, you should be fine.

Love my V1 CF lip! IMO the cleanest JDM lip available. Your sig says 06' but that lip doesn't look like Veilside. Mine looks different, especially in the middle where the badge goes. I run slammed with the lip on and never scrapped on the road or my driveway, it must be steep scraping on stock height?

Yeah, looks like a fake "VeilSide" lip.
I hope the original poster didn't get suckered into buying a fake one.

If it fits just as well and isn't bad quality, I don't see the problem. I'd prefer the aftermarket one as it doesn't have the huge Veilside emblem on it.

How does that not make sense?

Let's say you go to a store and buy your wife a Louis Vuitton handbag.
You assume it is real.
You get home and then she realizes it is a FAKE one.
Would that NOT be a problem?

(this is just an example to illustrate my point)

now back to my original point.
If the buyer thought he was buying a real one and actually got a fake one, THAT is a problem.

This is an authentic veilside lip. Veilside did in fact come out with one for the 06-08, but production seemed to be limited. We would know this, had the mods not deleted the 06 and up front lips originally in the exterior sub forum.

I believe what he's stating is if a replica looks and does the same purpose it was created for just as the veilside lip does, has no problem with fitment, and if the buyer is happy... there should be no problem with it. The people who only have the problem with replicas are the people who stick to "name" brands...

Surprisingly, some body replicas are actually better than the originals such as the Shine Nismo V.2 replica... I'd choose that over the actual bumper. It build being so versatile vs. the brittle build of the OEM.. I'll take that any day over the idea of owning an actual OEM parts and a little 2 x 3 in badge that says Nismo. Don't get me wrong, there are some HORRIBLE replicas out there, and we've seen them all... but if it's good or even better, then why knock it?

Again, if the OP acknowledges it's a replica and is happy with it, what's the problem then?..

edit: Since Allen verified it's a authentic veilside lip, don't burst his bubble because you can't see the badge or assume he got jipped on a "horrible" replica. sw0ng... it looks sweet bro.. gj

I'm sorry.
It has a "dip" in the middle of the front lip.
It isn't real.
We did not make them like that.
There is no "limited production" on them.
Every VeilSide front lip for the 06+ Z has the emblem in the middle.

I'm not trying to start a replica vs. authentic debate. I know that tons of people like to go cheap on their car. That is fine. The support the guy who rips off the original design.
Some people like to buy the real product. That is fine too. They support the original designer.

Allen didn't verify anything.
